Tools to Use in Assessing Students' Global Competence
When students are globally competent, they have the skills and attitudes in which to understand and act on issues of global significance. The Asia Society and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) have created rubrics for each subject, which teachers can use to assess students global competence. Students must show proficiency in four areas: 1) An ability to investigate the world, 2) a willingness to recognize their own and others' perspectives, 3) competence in communicating ideas, and 4) a project that takes action based on the knowledge they've gained.
