My passion for all things global started in elementary school when I attended a German bilingual grade school. I loved learning a new language, new traditions, and songs! The international bug had bitten me after I spent my junior year of college in Germany (my first time out of the country!). After receiving a B.A. in History and German from Washington University in St. Louis, I spent a few years working at the Academy for Educational Development in Washington, D.C. This led to a graduate program in International Studies at the Johns Hopkins University, School for International Studies and a year in Bologna, Italy. After realizing that I wanted to have a more immediate impact on my environment and spend my time learning, I decided to go into teaching. After 15 years in education, marriage, and children, I finally felt I could leave my family and go on an adventure overseas. Thank you to the U.S. State Department and IREX for giving me the opportunity to travel to India and meet so many wonderful educators and students. What a wonderful country and people!
